Acai and Hemp Milk Smoothie

Vacations are great, but when I come home I feel like I need a vacation from the vacation! We were in Disney World for a week and had some great food, but our bodies aren't used to eating that amount of rich food for that long.  When I came home I felt like I needed to detox.  I'm not into juice cleanses or anything like that (let's be real...no one is pleasant after not eating for a few days), but my idea of a detox is to eat really clean.  Smoothies sound healthy, but many that you buy are packed with hidden sugar and dairy.  I like to make my own at home.  This way you can control what goes into it and your money can go further.

I love these acai smoothie packs (picture below)! You can get them from Whole Foods or any other health food store.  If you can't find them then you can just add more blueberries.  The most important thing is to make sure it doesn't have sugar added.  The other thing that I really like about this smoothie is the hemp milk because it is much better for you than adding dairy.  Hemp milk adds a nice, rich, creaminess to the smoothie that makes you feel like you are having something unhealthy even though you aren't.  I love using hemp milk as a replacement for milk in so many things and I am surprised it isn't a trend yet.  It's packed with protein, omegas 3 and 6, and vitamins.  Make sure to blend everything for a good amount of time in the blender because that will create the smoothest texture.
