Staying Safe on Thanksgiving

Who is ready for the biggest food holiday of the year?? Ummm me!!!

This Thanksgiving is going to be a bit of a change for us since we are not going to Michigan to visit my family. I am beyond sad, but I am also looking forward to celebrating in a new way out here in Los Angeles. It is just to strange celebrating winter holidays in warm weather!! Growing up in the mid west, I am used to it being cold! I love wearing sweaters, and getting cozy while eating all of the delicious and hearty food that comes along with Thanksgiving.

This year we will be celebrating with my husband's family. His uncle, who is a great cook, is going to be deep frying a turkey! I have never had deep fried turkey, if you can believe it. I cannot wait to learn about the process, but I have also heard horror stories about grease fires that people have created when cooking a deep fried turkey. So, when I received information from the U.S. Fire Administration asking me to share with you, my dedicated readers, information on how to stay safe this Thanksgiving and holiday season, I was more than happy to do just that.

Even if you are not frying a turkey this year, below you can find really great tips on how to stay safe during the busiest cooking day of the year. It can be very easy to get distracted, and walk away from something on the stove, I have done it plenty of times, but this is a day where we all need to be extra careful for the safety of ourselves and, more importantly, our families.

Please take a few minutes to read the information below before Thanksgiving Day!!
