Tablescapes are one of the best ways to decorate for any party, because it is a central area to decorate around, as well as a place to put food. One of the easiest ways to make it interesting is to add height. You can do this with flowers, or tall vases, etc, but it also works with adding in a backdrop. I have found that adding a backdrop makes a huge different in the overall look, and can make the entire area look much more impressive.

This crepe paper is beautiful Italian crepe paper that I found on a website called Carte Fini. I had actually done this a little while ago for New Years Eve with gold tissue paper. So, if you don't have the time to order this crepe paper, you can actually get tissue paper and do the same type of thing. This crepe paper is much sturdier, so you could actually store it, and use it again. Where with tissue paper, it might be a one-and-done kind of thing, and it won't hold the shape as well.  Either way is totally fine, just adding in any kind of height, color, and texture will make a huge difference.

I did this specific backdrop with Halloween in mind, because I love orange, but I also used to for my son's construction themed birthday party. You can use this for any celebration, and customize it by changing up the colors. Red and green would be so cute for a Christmas party!

This beautiful backdrop creates a bright and festive touch to this tablescape. It’s as easy as folding and cutting.

Supplies:

Large rolls of crepe paper in desired colors; about 19.5 inches wide; link here http://www.cartefini.com

Scissors

Tape

Directions:

*The sheets used in these pictures are about 20 inches wide; cut them to the desired length depending on where they will be placed

*Fold the sheet of crepe paper in half lengthwise, aka “hot dog style,” to create a line to cut along, and cut the sheet in half

*Fold the cut sheet in half so that the two short ends are placed together; then fold like a “hot dog” lengthwise again

*Using scissors, cut about ½ inch strips on the side that is open, leaving about an inch or so uncut towards to folded side

*It is important not to cut too close to the folded side, as this can distort the desired outcome

*Unfold completely!

*Attach the sheet onto the wall using tape or tacks

*Repeat with other colors

I also used this backdrop as a decoration for my son's construction themed birthday party. You can change up the colors and customize it for your own event.
