DIY Twisted Candles
A simple and easy way to make these trendy attention-grabbing candles. I am seeing there all over and even though they look easy, they are a bit technical.
(video coming soon)
MATERIALS:
Tall solid tapered or dinner candles, preferably paraffin wax
Hot water in container big enough for candles
Rolling pin
Optional:
Cold water bath
Potato peeler
INSTRUCTIONS:
Soak the candles for 10-15 minutes in the hot water bath until malleable.
To Create The Spiral Twisted Candle:
Remove the candle from the hot water.
Use a rolling pin to slightly flatten the candles wherever you want to create the twist.
Grab the candle on either side of where youβve flattened and twist.
To get the candle to hold shape you can pop it into a cold-water bath, the fridge or just hold it for a few moments until hard.
Repeat to create as many as desired, enjoy!
To Create The Curved Twisted Candle:
Remove the candle from the hot water.
Gently bend the candle into curved shapes as desired.
If you want the candle to sit flat without a holder on a curve, use a potato peeler to shave the bottom flat enough to keep it steady.
Repeat to create as many as desired, enjoy!
