Chocolate Peanut Butter Bon Bons
Chocolate and peanut butter.... basically the best combination ever! My mom and I have been putting together cookies boxes for the holidays for as long as I can remember. We always added these Chocolate Peanut Butter Bon Bons to the boxes and they turned into everyone's favorite. My mom got this recipe from my grandma and I am FINALLY sharing it with the world. This was too good to keep to ourselves and I was very excited to show everyone how to make it on the set of Home and Family on The Hallmark Channel.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Bon Bons
1 pound powdered sugar 1/2 cup unsalted butter; room temperature 2 cups peanut butter 3 cups Rice Krispies; crushed 1/2 pound candy coating chocolate; I like milk chocolate or dark chocolate
Instructions:
*Cream butter and peanut butter together *Add powdered sugar *Add in Krispies *Mix until well combined *Scoop out and roll into about 1 inch balls *Refrigerate for at least 2 hours *Once chilled melt the chocolate by placing it in a bowl over a pot of simmering water (also known as a double boiler) being careful the water isn't touching the bowl *Use a fork to dip the cold bon bons into the chocolate *Tap the fork on the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate *Place on a sheet of wax paper to set up
*If you want to add the pretty drizzled look you can place the melted chocolate in a plastic bag and cut off the tip, then with a back and forth motion drizzle the chocolate over the bon bon
*When doing this you want to make sure that the bon bons have completely set up otherwise it will look melted
