Bright and Fresh DIY Lemon Vase Centerpiece
I am lemon obsessed!! I cook with lemon all of the time, I add it to so many dishes as a finishing touch, and I add it to my salads every day with some olive oil as the dressing. Lemons are also extremely beautiful! They make great decorations, because not only are they pretty, but they add a wonderfully fresh scent.
I have seen these lemon vases on Pinterest and in a number of magazines over the years, but have never tried it myself. It is a pretty easy concept...adding slices of lemons into a vase with flowers, but it can actually be a bit tricky. You have to find TWO vases that will work together. One large vase, and one smaller vase that fits into the large one. You do this because it helps the lemons to stay put, otherwise you need a lot more lemons, and you will have a hard time keeping them from floating around. You also do not want smaller vase to be too small, otherwise there is no point in it being there. I ran into an issue, because I didn't have two vases at home that worked together, so I had to be creative...and being creative with this turned into a lot of fails. I had a plastic container that would fit, but it kept floating, so I put a mason jar vase inside that. So I have a vase inside a vase, inside a vase...hmmmm.
If you have two vases that work together, that is the way to go, but the whole idea is that you put a vase in a vase, and add some sliced lemons around it, add flowers in the center, then fill the entire thing with water! phew...
