The Gift of Food
I love getting holiday cards! Since we have had so many parties lately I thought that it would be fun to hand deliver some of our cards with one of the many things I have been baking. I usually put together fun cookie boxes with a variety of desserts, but we are in the middle of a very busy holiday season so I think it's great if you even do one kind of treat. Two of my favorites are gingerbread cookies (because you only have them once a year!) and granola. They both travel well and can be decorated really pretty. There really is something to be said about making something at home, from scratch. I think so many people feel pressured to buy so many gifts, but I actually like when someone takes the time to make a gift. When I am putting one together for someone like this I customize it to the person. I know that they love granola with chocolate so when I show up with that then they know I took that extra time to make it special. I also think it's easy to add small touches to make a gift more personal. I love using baker's twine, cinnamon, and silver bells for a simple yet pretty decoration.
I got our cards, address labels, and stickers from Tiny Prints. I would hate it if my gift got lost in the pile and they didn't know who it was from. These stickers make it super easy to prevent that from happening.
For the granola I love to use mason jars and tulle for the bow. Tulle is great because it is easy to work with and will hold it's shape!
I love these stickers to use even outside of the holidays because I bake so much. This way people know that it's something homemade and special.
