Like most moms, pampering myself is at the very bottom of my very long "to do" list, but it shouldn't be! Moms always put themselves last, especially when it comes to our own beauty routine. Luckily I was part of a round table discussion with Focus Magazine, hosted by the very lovely Arianna Thomopoulos of The Modern Day Girlfriend, and it just so happened to take place at the very beautiful Face Bar in West Hollywood.

The Face Bar is the same idea as the blow dry bar, but for your skin. It is a quick in and out pampering session, only unlike the blow dry, your skin has lasting results, especially if it is something you keep up with. The Face Bar in West Hollywood is chic and beautiful, while also being welcoming and fresh. When you walk in you are welcomed by a light, fresh, and slightly feminine scent from their very own candle line. The room has beautiful chandeliers, glamours mirrors, rustic/chic decor, and an earthy moss sign that makes you feel like you are at an expensive garden party. They have their very own line of skincare, along with the amazing candles.

The Face Bar offers a "glow and go," which is a hydrating mini facial that makes your face fresh and dewy. This can be done on the same day as an event to make your skin look extra fresh. They also offer peels, which is what I did. It is a chemical peel that takes off all of the dead skin, and peel it away to reveal fresh new skin. It sounds like it could be painful, but I didn't have much in the way of discomfort, and I was really happy with my results. For the peel there is minimal downtime. The first day you need to leave the peel on for 8 hours, then gently wash it off. The next day you look like you have a sunburn, and the third/fourth day your skin will peel. My skin was pretty much done peeling by the third day. The trick is to leave with the bag of goodies they offer, along with the instructions on how to care for your skin. I made sure my skin was very hydrated with aquaphor, and my skin would gently peel away.

This is a fun pampering day for a group of girlfriends to do together! It made my skin feel fresh and new. Also, because it is like the dry bar for your skin, the cost is NOT even close to how much it is at regular spas. For about $70 you get the results from something that usually costs $150 minimum. It was so nice to get pampered on the run, AND not feel bad about the cost.

I documented my experience via snapchat. You can follow in at fromscratchMP. Here is a video of my snaps altogether, and how my skin looked a few days afterwards.
