DIY Floral Lanterns for Easter on The Hallmark Channel
Flowers are always a good idea when it comes to decorating. From bridal showers and weddings to a simple BBQ at home, if you add flowers, it just makes everything look dressy. I love thinking of fun and new ways to use flowers since I enjoy having them around all of the time, but it can definitely be pricey. So, I thought of a really fun and interesting way to display flower, but instead of spending money on real flowers, I decided to use faux flowers!
These DIY Floral Lanterns are beyond beautiful, and such an elegant touch. I decided to go the low maintenance route with faux flowers, because it is more cost effective. This way I can display these lanterns throughout the entire Spring and Summer. Even better, you can use these lanterns for any and every holiday by just changing out the decor on the inside! Since I did these for Easter, I was dreaming up what I plan to do for other holidays. Wouldn't these be adorable with some red, white and blue decor in the center for the 4th of July? You can even do black and orange flowers for Halloween! The list goes on, and I fully intend to test out all of the holidays for you!
DIY Floral Lanterns
Supplies:
Large lanterns
Foam cones
Serrated knife; optional if the cones need to be cut
Glue gun
Faux flowers
Wire cutters
Faux moss; optional
Directions:
*Cut the foam cone to whatever size will fit into the lantern using the serrated knife
*Use the wire cutters to cut the flowers so they have a shorter stem that can be used to stick into the foam cone
*Start with the larger flowers first, and place them randomly around the cone by poking the stem into the come, these can also be secured with a cool glue gun
*Then, fill in spaces with smaller flowers and leaves from the faux flowers until you achieve the look you like
*A cool glue gun can also be used to secure the flowers and leaves onto the foam
*Place moss inside the lantern around the inside edges; this step is optional since the lanterns look good with or without the moss
*Place the flower covered cone in the center of the lantern
*Display! This could be used as a beautiful centerpiece for a wedding, bridal shower, or any party, since the flowers can adjusted to whatever color scheme you like
